(UPDATED March 25) The Environmental Services office at 3015 Menke Circle will be closed on Thursday and Friday, April 11 and 12 while we move to our new location at 15335 West Maple Road. The office will reopen on Monday, April 15th at 8 am.

Please plan accordingly if you need to apply for a building permit, schedule an inspection, apply for a planning item, visit with the planner or inspectors, or do other business with our office. Phone access to staff will be unavailable during this time although you should be able to leave voice mail messages. Email messages may not be answered until Monday, April 15th.


The County's visionary land-use document is the 2018 Comprehensive Development Plan.


The supporting instruments are the Zoning RegulationsSubdivision Regulations, Stormwater Management Regulation, and the Supplements to Zoning Regulations.


This division advises the nine-member Planning Commission and five-member Board of Adjustment, all appointed by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners.


Floodplain Development Permits are processed in cooperation with the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District.
